Project 52 Blog Circle Week 4 |My Town| Sharon, CT

I’ve joined up with a great group of ladies I met on clickinmoms to do a Project 52. I’ll be shooting a new theme every week for the year. I have so little time to shoot for myself, this will help me do that. I hope my fellow ladies will keep me on task! Lol.

At the end of each post I’ll have a link to check out a fellow participates website. Click and check out her work!

I’ve lived in the NW corner of CT most of my life, and it’s gorgeous here! Although I am so over winter. :p I decided to focus on a few my families favourite places in town. Sharon is on the smaller size, around 3,000 residents. All six towns in the region share a high school.

cmacmillanphoto_lensbabyWe love going to the Sharon Audubon. They have some fantastic wildlife, nature programs and hiking trails. I took my new Lensbaby 80 optics with us. I’m still getting the hang of this lens, but I love the shallow depth of field. <3!

Another place we spend most of our time is the Hotchkiss Library, especially in the summer. My kids could spend hours inside reading books.

The clock tower is landmark in town. I drive by it at least 3 times a day. :p

Another landmark that I see everyday is the field on RT41. There used to be twin oaks standing in the field, they ere over 250 years old. One of the oaks fell during Hurricane Sandy and sadly, the second oak fell 5 months later. Perhaps it could not go on with out it’s twin. 🙁 The Sharon Land Trust planted a new oak tree a few weeks before the second tree fell.
