Project 52 | Blog Circle | Week 6 | Side Light Photography

Ah, the grand ideas I had for this week side light. 😛 The kids and I have been sick on and off this week. I managed to grab a few images last weekend. I love lighting, it’s one of my favorite things to teach my students about. Light is just a basic and fundamental part of photography, but it often gets overlooked. I adore side lighting. My kids sat still for about 5 secs and then wanted nothing to do with me. They ended up playing together nicely for 20 mins, so I can’t really complain! 😀 We had been to The Moviehouse as saw The Lego Movie in 3D the day before. They had a party, people dressed up like Lego people, free posters & balloons. My kids go crazy for balloons. Nathan had been dragging his deflating balloon around all morning and then quickly forgot about it in favor of plowing the driveway with Dada. 😛 The balloon was not a bad model, he stayed still and took direction well. I took both images with my Lensbaby, still trying to get the hang of exposing with the lens.

Please check out Laura’s blog and see what she did with side lighting. Until next time!
